La Samanna Celebrates Completion of Extensive Renovation
ST. MARTIN, FRENCH WEST INDIES (July 31, 2007) – La Samanna, an Orient-Express hideaway in St. Martin, French West Indies, announced recently it has completed a multi-million dollar refurbishment of its 55-acre luxury beach-front property.
The most recent enhancements include the addition of an infinity edge pool that sits by the new beach bar and deck, an expanded fitness center, a wedding ceremony location with sea views, changes on the façade, and a business center for internet access and office services. The most noticeable recent enhancement at La Samanna is a new infinity-edge pool, located in the center of the resort facing the clear waters of our stunning beach, Baie Longue. This is the second resort pool and is complemented with a new beach bar and deck that provides a perfect setting for lingering over drinks at sunset or enjoying a meal right on the ocean. Once a week, guests can also take in a movie under the stars.
The new beach deck also features canopies for shade with a cool misting system, providing comfort during lunch under the midday sun. A beach attendant service offers complimentary chilled water, fruit kebabs and sorbets to refresh your palate, and cold towels during the midday sun.
The new freshwater pool joins a complement of beachside amenities, including private cabanas equipped with iPods and butler-style service, along with an array of water sports for the active and adventurous including sailboats, kayaks, water skiing and wake boarding, snorkeling and diving trips. The property also sports a fleet of luxury yachts and cruisers designed for idyllic explorations through the unspoiled Caribbean waters.
La Samanna’s fitness center has been doubled in space, featuring a dedicated area for cardio equipment, and a new wing for free weights and weight training equipment. The infrastructure is complemented with a Pilates and yoga studio.
Also new is the addition of a private beachside facility designed exclusively for wedding clientele. Weddings have always been a signature of La Samanna, with its plethora of idyllic backdrops in a natural, harmonious setting that blends sun and sea with art and nature.
